You’re Extraordinary, Feel It!
Pain and tension: we can all relate the effects this has on our body. Tension shows up in the body as a defensive posture. The shoulders tighten, the head comes forward, and breath is reduced. This posture causes a stretching of the spine putting our physiology in a fight or flight response. We wear the stress and tension as armor to defend ourselves against the world. Pain is the body’s messenger cueing us that we must make a change in the way we are living our life. The louder the pain in the body, the more urgent the call to action and change that is necessary. By listening to our body we gain access to our inner gifts and wisdom. Increasing the flexibility of the spine increases the flexibility of our life.
In today’s culture of stress, financial and family demands, when do we find the time for ourselves? Our culture is one of perpetual to-do lists, rarely giving us the time to focus on ourselves. We live at the extremes of life and only stop when our body forces us to, i.e. pain, tension, and disease. What if there was a way to accomplish our goals with ease and efficiency while still having the time for what we truly love?
Spinal analysis is a method of utilizing ease in the body in order to self-regulate tension and teach the body to become more aware of its environment. When we no longer wear the stress and tension, we pick up on the subtle cues in life and make appropriate choices that ultimately serve our highest purpose. When stress no longer dominates how we live; the things, events, and people that caused the stress no longer affect us in the same way. We can now see the gifts in life rather than the pain.
The human body is a dynamic, ever-changing system that relies on its ability to adapt to the environment and make healthy choices in order to live an enriched life. On a daily basis we challenge our bodies physically, chemically, and emotionally. Too often we are masked by pain and tension. What we feed is what grows, the only control we have is where we put our attention. Instead of amplifying the parts that are not working, why not focus on what feels really good in the body and promote that?
We were meant to feel great and be full of energy! It is time to transform tension and redirect where we put our attention.
