Time of the Season for Business Licenses

Already Have a Business License?

With the New Year starting it is time to renew your City of Emeryville Business License. All previously licensed businesses should receive a Business License Renewal packet in the mail by mid-January that contains all the necessary forms and information needed to keep your business license current. The renewal packet allows businesses to update the information currently on file with the City of Emeryville such as phone numbers, addresses and contact information. Business License renewals are due by March 1st (postmarks accepted) with late payments being subject to penalties and interest. If your business does not receive a renewal packet by January 15, 2008 give City Hall a call at 510-596-4325.

Please note that in the spirit of maintaining a strong relationship with the business community, the City mails the renewal packets as a courtesy to businesses. The City is not required to send a renewal packet, and as a reminder, not receiving a renewal packet does not absolve the taxpayer of the responsibility to file the tax return/payment on time.

Need to Obtain A Business License?

Is your business located in Emeryville? Have you relocated to Emeryville? The City of Emeryville requires businesses to obtain a license to conduct business within the city.

The process is quick and easy. Simply call or stop by City Hall at 1333 Park Avenue and pick up an application packet or go to the City’s website: www.ci.emeryville.ca.us and download one. Complete your application and return it (via mail or in person) with your one time filing fee of $50.00 and applicable tax amount to the City.

The Business License Counter is located at City Hall, 1333 Park Avenue Emeryville, CA 94608 and is open from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Questions? Call 510-596-4325.
