Get Ready to Love February

Valentine’s Day is the day where we focus on love, and even though it is directed toward a special someone the attention to love in general is the healthiest healing for just about everything on the planet. The Beatles classic “All You Need is Love” is still a heart-warming favorite for generations and brings good feeling into the heart for most when they hear it.

How about this year we extend ourselves beyond that special someone and engage in unusual acts of kindness towards associates, coworkers, the folks who serve us coffee in the morning and even out right strangers? This could be the beginning of a new world order!

“What’s love got to do with it?” sang Tina Turner Plenty! Did you know that the feeling of love is what releases Serotonin, the feel-good chemical in the brain that also responds to chocolate, carbs, sugar, massage, laughter, exercise, aroma therapy, specific supplementation, meditation, positive visualization and affirmation, focused breathing , pleasurable intimacy, inspirational music, and beautiful surroundings?

Many people use prescription medication to up regulate and increase Serotonin production to lift mood, deal with depression and so on. I’m not suggesting that anyone go off medication I would simply point out that there are a vast array of alternatives that can contribute significantly to our overall well-being. Let February be your opportunity to make a love connection and try some new strategies.
