Another Sell-Out for the "Behind the Scenes at Pixar"

On Saturday, December 1 Pixar

Animation Studios graciously welcomed

the entire community for a

day of family fun and learning, all

to benefi t the Emery Ed Fund. Over

235 guests and volunteers were given

exclusive access to Pixar’s campus

where they toured the galleries and

attended classes in Art, Animation,

and Acting. Th is was followed by

lunch and a series of short animated

fi lms in Pixar’s state-of-the-art

screening room. A group of 20 volunteers

comprised of teachers and

students from Emery schools helped

the day run without a hitch. Over

$27,000 was raised for the Emery

Ed Fund, a 501(c)3 non-profi t foundation

that supports the students

and teachers of the Emery Unifi ed

School District.

“Th e day was a complete success,”

said Eugenia Bowman, Executive

Director of the Emery Ed Fund.

“Pixar has come through for us

once again, but really, it’s not for us.

It’s for the students of the Emery

School District. Due to Pixar’s generosity,

Emery seniors who might

otherwise not be able to will now

get a scholarship to help them pay

for college. Th is is why we do this

event, and how Pixar makes a real

diff erence in the lives in the people

who live here.”

Stay tuned for the Ed Fund’s

next big event, scheduled for

March, the annual Benefi t Concert

for Music and Arts in the Schools,

generously sponsored once again by

Ex’pression College for Digital Arts,
