SUMMER SCHOOL IN EMERYVILLE

July 2007

School is not out for the summer for dozens of Emeryville teen-agers.

Summer school begins July 5 at Emery Secondary School. The session ends on Aug. 3.

About 125 students will be enrolled in English, math, chemistry and English as a Second Language classes.

Emery Secondary Principal Dr. Antonio Cediel said most of the summer students will be taking classes they either failed during the school year or need to take to fulfill their graduation requirements.

He said a number of students are also taking summer classes at nearby community colleges.
