Pixar Screening Benefits Emery Schools

On June 8th you can get a sneak preview of one of the summer’s most anticipated movies and help Emeryville schools

For the third straight year, Pixar Animation Studios is hosting a pre-release benefit screening of its latest film with the proceeds going to the Emery Education Fund.

This year, the animated film, “Ratatouille,” will be shown on Friday evening, June 8th, at the Pixar studios, 1200 Park Avenue, in Emeryville. The event also includes a wine reception and silent auction. The festivities begin at 6 p.m. and end at 9 p.m.

Ticket prices range from $250 for individuals, $1,000 for corporate patrons (two tickets) and family patrons (four tickets) to $5,000 for corporate and family sponsors (10 tickets). The event is limited to 235 people and tickets must be purchased before June 4th on-line at www.emeryed.org” Patrons must be at least 21 years of age to attend.

The Emery Education Fund hopes to raise $75,000 at the event. The screening is a continuation of the close working relationship between Pixar Animation Studios and the Emery schools.

“Pixar has been a vital partner in the rebirth of Emeryville’s public schools,” says Emery Ed Fund President John Gooding. “Not only have they supported the schools by hosting world-class events like the Ratatouille screening, but Pixar employees volunteer in our schools throughout the year.”

The movie, “Ratatouille,” is about a rat who resides in a high-class Paris restaurant and dreams of becoming a chef. It’s Pixar’s eighth animated film and will be released in theaters on June 29th.

The Emery Education Fund raises $1 million a year for music and arts programs as well as college scholarships, mini-grants for teachers, school libraries and the Math Science Technology Initiative.
